Film Genres:
Here I have looked at various different film genres, wrote a bit about each one of them and then I left a few suggestions as to which films belong with it's chosen Genre.
Action:These types of films include of high energy, big - budget stunts and involve chases, maybe with rescues, battles fights, escapes or even destructive crises.
Some action films are: Skyfall, Looper, The Amazing Spiderman and Total Recall. Comedies:Comedies usually consist of light-hearted plots, which are used to amuse or provoke people with laughter, by the use exaggeration of the situation, language, relationship and also the characters in question.
Some Comedy films are: The Watch, Hocus Pocus, Brave, and Ted. Drama:A drama film would be consisting of a highly thought out, serious plot. Usually they are not focused on special-effects, comedy or even on action. Dramatic films are in high potential, as they are the highest film genre.
Some Drama films are: Savages, Magic Mike, Up, and Red Lights. Horror:As a horror film would it is designed to frighten or scare the viewer, and it is so enhance our inner most fears. Most horror films feature a wide range of styles, from the classical silent Nosferatu style right up to now with CGI monsters. Sometimes these can also come into contact with Science Fiction. There are many subsets for which Horror films can come under these are: slasher, terror, serial killers, Satanic, Dracula, Frankenstein, etc.
Some Horror / films are: The Blair Witch Project, Hellraiser, The Fog and The Descent. Science Fiction:Sci-Fi films are usually imaginative and have a lot of visionary uses, they are packed full of heroes, villains and even the odd alien. Most things that sci-Fi films have is that it all mostly futuristic based and can be made in any place. Science Fiction also often expresses the potential of technology to destroy humankind and overlaps with the genre of horror.

Adventure:Adventure films are usually those which consist of exciting stories with new experiences or on location set ups. This type of genre is typically paired with action films.
Some adventure films are: The Mummy, Lord of the Rings, Pirates of the Caribbean, and The Golden Compass. Crime / Gangster:Crime or gangster films are mostly developed around the menacing actions around criminals or mobs, mostly particular with bank robbers or ruthless hoodlums.
Some Crime / Gangster films are: The Godfather, Scarface, Carlito's Way, and Drive. Epics / Historical:Epics can include of costume dramas, historical dramas, war films, or even 'period pictures'. Epics can take a historical or imagined event, and add an extravagant setting and lavish costumes and which would be accompanied by grandeur.
Some Epics / Historical films are: Hotel Rwanda, Schindler's List, Ben Hur, and Ghandi Musicals / Dance:Musical and dance films have an acquired look and they're meant to make you feel happy and joyous. These are also films that have cinematic forms that would emphasize full scale scores, or have a song and dance routine. Mostly, these films are often centered on the combinations of either music or dance or maybe even both. These can have certain aspect of your own life and can make them seem even more impressive.
Some Musicals / Dance films are: Chicago, Step Up, Cats, and The sound of Music. War:War and Anti-War films sometimes acknowledge the heartbreak and horror of the war. Most of the War films are often paired with other sub genres like Horror, drama, adventure and Romance or even with Black Comedy. These may also include the POW tales, this can be consisted of the stories from the military operations or even training.

Westerns:
Westerns are described as the backbone of America, as they are defining the major genre of the American industry. These are one of the oldest genres with very recognizable shots and has cowboys and/or Indians. Overtime though, the westerns have been re-fined and in some way reformed and can even be spoofed, or would be dismissed.
Some Western films are:
The Good, The bad and the ugly, Hombre, El Diablo and Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid.
