Idea Generation:
My idea generation for my Advertising Trailer.
Planning:
For this task we were given the choice of creating an advertising trailer on our own, or by going in a group. I decided that I'd feel much more confident if I worked in a group for this one, task. Below, is a photograph of our mind map to help start us off with the basic ideas for an advertising trailer.
We started off creating the ideas for our advertisement by writing 'Advert' in a spider diagram. Then we thought of different types of adverts we could create at the college, we wrote down the likes of: Sport - dance - rugby and gymnastics, we thought that these would be quite interesting adverts to promote however we didn't really feel like we could go over and film them with ease and with the confidence needed.
We also came up with the idea of maybe going to Dean Clough's catering course which the college provides for some students, we thought that this could be an interesting advert as the food would look appealing and that the steam coming off of the food, would like rather appetizing and would possibly come off rather well, for an advert. However, we got told that filming food is quite difficult, as you have to make sure that it looks appetizing and appealing. We also decided that maybe music could have been an interesting advert, as we would have filmed people creating a track / song and get it from different angles, which would look rather nice and quite creative, although we thought that this could have been quite difficult.

Final Plan:
So with that in mind, we settled on creating an advertising trailer for the Film and Photography course as we had everything needed to create a sleek and sophisticated advert. Then in our group we wrote down what would then go into the advert itself, and here we would add in footage of some of the other students in our group setting up the lights and then, we would ask one of them how easy it was to set up, and then we would ask them how they think they are on the course, also we would ask if the course is either easy or hard, if they find that the course is challenging enough for them and also if they enjoyed any specific tasks we were asked to do. We also thought of doing a vox pop sort of clip to go in the advert. We would ask each student in our group to sum up the course in one word, and then we would put all that footage together to put into the advert itself. Then we would use B-roll footage, to show that Harry is setting up the lighting for a shoot, and then we would cut it to him talking about that specific task then cut back to the video of him setting up the lights.
Questions:
Here are some questions which we are planning to ask Harry - Student
Raf - Tutor.
Harry:
How easy is it to assemble the LED lights? (B-roll footage over of the setup)
How did you find the dramatic lighting exercise?
How are you finding the course? (Then have other people in the course say their answer after that too.)
Raf:
Do you think the course is going well?
Do you think the course has a future?
How do you think the students are doing in the course?
