Motion Blur Experiment:
For this experiment we studied motion blur.
Motion Blur is the apparent panning of streaking of motion subjects in a still image
To achieve this look you can use slow and fast shutter speeds.
While there is an obvious opportunity in sports photography to emphasize the movement of participants
This particular experiment can be used more to do with sports for a runner for example, as
you can get a good shot of them running, being really sharp in the image or to be blurred while their running. Although this can be used for any particular shot. For the majority of these shots you will need a tripod.
I think this experiment would go well with animals and water. I particularly like the way
it works with water as you get that 'soft water' effect which is rather striking.
The animals can too look really interesting and can look rather appealing.
A moving snail and a moving racing car would give you very different results at the same shutter speed.
A longer shutter speed will let more light into your camera and can runs the risk of blowing out, or overexposing your shot.

I really like the lighting in some of my water motion blur photos, I think the lighting look really interesting as in the first three images you will see below, they have a sepia gold colour, which I think looks really nice. Then the next eight water photos have the silvery tone, which also looks really interseting and has a certain appeal. The only light which I have used is plain, simple light bulbs which were in the rooms where these were taken. I really do like this photographs overall, they look really quirky which is what I particularly like about them. I changed my angles in the water photographs, as I wanted a different look on how water was perceived in images and I wanted to change how other / most people would look at water. The movement of these water shots is very dynamic and fluid, which I really like, trying to get the right image for these pictures was quite tricky as I set up in my mind of what I would want to photograph. But overall, for my first try at doing motion blur photography for water, I was happy with my results.
I also like the way how each particular photograph is framed. For example, in the water pictures the sinks and walls are in the shot which gives a quite interesting look. Also in the dog and fire shots, there surrounded by there environment, by that I mean that the dog photograph is framed by the grass and the fencing which look particularly well, as it is a really nice contrast with the blue and green. The fire is surrounded by the fireplace and coals which again, gives off a really nice framed effect.
