My Chosen Animators Time Line:
1929: The Skeleton Dance – Disney
This was a rather interesting piece, and was very different to
some animation in which I have seen. I rather liked the creepy, disturbed
feeling which this animation brought to the table. I liked its Gothic style
which is rather different for something which did come from Disney. This has a
lot of detail and a rather interesting story behind it too. Overall, this is a
very fun and interesting animation to look at and leaves you with a smile on
your face.

1956: The Mickey Mouse Club House - Walt Disney
From what I've seen on this little clip from YouTube is that this was a rather charming animation and the mickey mouse club has truly evolved. With the stunning black and white effect from what was available back in the 1950's was so lovely and simple, also this really puts a smile on your face. Here I found information about the music within this clip:
Music:
The opening theme, "The Mickey Mouse March," was written by the show's primary adult host, Jimmie Dodd. It was also reprised at the end of each episode, with the slower it's-time-to-say-goodbye verse. A shorter version of the opening title was used later in the series, in syndication, and on Disney Channel reruns. Dodd also wrote many other songs used in individual segments over the course of the series.

1958: Huckleberry Hound -
Huckleberry "Huck" Hound is a fictional cartoon character, a blue dog that speaks with a Southern drawl and has a relaxed, sweet, and well-intentioned personality. He first appeared in the series The Huckleberry Hound Show. Huckleberry Hound's southern drawl and laid back mannerisms bear close resemblance to the character "Southern Wolf" in the MGM cartoons including those produced by Hanna and Barbera. I really like this animation as it was a classic and most people have heard of Huckleberry and is really distinct for the blue dog, even I remember this dog even when I weren't around in 1958. This is a lovely animation and is simple great.

1960: Popeye The Sailor -
Popeye the Sailor is a cartoon fictional character created by Elzie Crisler Segar, who has appeared in comic strips and animated cartoons in the cinema as well as on television. He first appeared in the daily King Features comic strip Thimble Theatre on January 17, 1929. Popeye also became the strip's title in later years. Popeye was a really great animation, it was something which everyone remembered with anchor tattoo and spinach.
In 2002, TV Guide ranked Popeye # 20 on its "50 Greatest Cartoon Characters of All Time" lists.

1975: Captain Pugwash -
Captain Pugwash is a fictional pirate in a series of British children's comic strips and books created by John Ryan. The character's adventures were adapted into a TV series, using cardboard cut-outs filmed in live-action (the first series was performed and broadcast live), also called Captain Pugwash, first shown on the BBC in 1957, a later colour series, first shown in 1974–75, and a traditional animation series, The Adventures of Captain Pugwash, first aired in 1998. Captain Pugwash is another one of those which is very remember-able, when you hear the opening music theme you instantly know that Captain Pugwash is on. I remember reading the books in primary and they were so captivating.

1986: Labyrinth – Directed by Jim Henson
I really liked this film with the added bits of puppetry and
quirky styles. I really liked the way Jim Henson added in the idea of puppets
into the fabulous film. Labyrinth features allusions to a range of literary and
filmic sources, many of which were recognized by contemporary reviewers. Richard
Corliss noted that the film appeared to have been influenced by The Wizard of Oz
and the works of Maurice Sendak.

1989: The BFG – David Jason
The BFG stands for Big, Friendly Giant, and this was definitely
the case with this film. This amazing animated film was fantastic when it came
out. I was obsessed with it as a child; I always loved how some scenes were
created and were really spectacular. The lovely bold colours and contrasts were
indeed a highlight for me.

1993: Nightmare before Christmas – Directed by Henry Selick
I really liked this film as it was rather interesting and also
rather intriguing. This was done also, by Tim Burton; I think that’s what really
drew me into this film, and also its style. I know have learned a lot of Tim’s
films and love them, as they’re intricate and have a lot of ‘attention to
detail’.

1995: The End of the World in Four Seasons –Paul Driessen
This animation was very different to ones which I have seen
previously. The thing that I liked about this animation was indeed the name. The
name is very catchy and that’s what made me want to look at this in particular.
I also liked the block colours in this animation, it was very colourful for
something about ‘The End of the World’ thus, it was juxtaposition. Again, this
was rather interesting and yet quite intriguing all the
same.

2005: Corpse Bride – Tim Burton
I’m really drawn to this particular film, it has a special power
which can captivate all who inhabit it, or actually those who watch it. However,
the animation in this film is rather extraordinary; they made their characters
out of clay and were specifically designed. Also they had to be more clay
makings of each character for their specific changes in their expressions, hair
and clothing. This is a very interesting film and it deserves to be in my time
line.
