Photoshop Lessons:
In this section I will be telling you what work we have done in Photoshop.
John Blakemore Style Photoshop:
When taking images like John Blakemore I had taken from different angles to create a more dynamic shot,
also we learned about different compositions, lines, form, shape and structure.
I learnt that the layout had been quite manageable and was really easy to set up, all you needed was a few things which you can find in your home.
The coke bottles were rather easy and very interesting to use as you can get some very good styled shots using just a coke bottle. You could also get very distinct shots and could get good angles too.
For our still life project in College we did have a limited amount of objects to use. In Photoshop we used a range of tools, like: Burn, Dodge, Sharpen, Sponge, Smudge and Blur.
Architectural:
In one of Catherine's lessons we went and took some Architectural shots
This was quite interesting and was rather fun, we learnt about different angle points and Minutiae.
In Photoshop I then opened up my best images and desaturated them, afterwards I uploaded a high resolution textured paper and added this into the shot.
I used the overlay tool on Photoshop to get my desired effect. In the end the image turned out okay
I opened up the Curves and Levels palette and changed some colours.
Architectural: Sci Fi
For this I tried to make a building from my own photos which I'd taken of environments and
buildings.
I took inspiration from Sci-Fi movies and games
I experimented with warp, distort and skew tools which was rather difficult for my to use with the images that I had.
I also tried to use the liquify tool but it didn't look right with my chosen images.
After that I desaturated my colour and tried to add little bits of colour towards the end
I had to think of a background but I didn't get time to add my background in.
This is Tomorrow:
For this we had to create our own 'This is Tomorrow' piece
I could use any images that I found (Google)
I used selection tools and the transform scale and edit transform and also the distort and perspective tools.
I had to start of with a basic empty room and add my chosen imaged in via copy and paste
I chose: Daniel Radcliffe cut out, Harry Potter posters and The Who, Wolf, Tiger, TV, and a rug
I used the selective tool to get rid of the background so that they would fit in well with it's surroundings
In the end I was quite pleased with what I had created and it look at if it genuinely fitted in to that certain room.
Tim Marrs style piece.
For this I had to create a college type piece dedicated to Tim Marrs' idea
For this I chose Memphis, Tennessee of Elvis Presley. These are all found of Google
and I had to use different layers for this particular idea.
I had to desaturate the images and cut away all the backgrounds out of the images that I
had used which was a little tricky but it was interesting and great when I got it right.
